So my New Year's "goal" to eat less chocolate is going down in flames... Wow I am bad at discipline! Tomorrow... tomorrow I will try harder. I keep hoping someday this will actually work - and I seriously intend for it to work. Tomorrow is the day!
Ok, enough with the lies. I guess there really isn't much else for me to write about. I sitting at my second job for the day, bored out of my mind, but getting paid do do virtually nothing. Gotta like that!
Tried snowboarding for the first time on Saturday. It didn't actually go as poorly as I first anticipated. When I got there and heard EVERY single person getting us ready to try this say "you're going to feel like you got hit by a bus tomorrow, but it will be fun the second time you go" I thought- yup, I'm off to rent a snow tube. Luckily my sister convinced me that we had spent too much money to just leave and that if the little kids could do it, so could we. I listened and after being on the board for 30 seconds, fell down the hill backwards and cracked my head on the ground, sending my hat and zillion dollar oakleys flying halfway down the hill. Lovely. We did get a free lesson with our rental though so that helped a lot and with the exception of one other pretty hard fall, I was having fun and actually making my way down the hill! Maybe I'll try it again... I guess my sister was incredibly sore the next day, however I felt fortunate that I came out of it with just a sore neck from my first fall. It could have been worse for sure!
Sunday was pretty boring. There was no one around to go skiing or snowshoeing with so I ended up riding the bike at the club for 2.5 hours while watching the "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" marathon, and then jumped on the treadmill to finish off the last half hour of the show. I couldn't really do anything else but activities that were pretty stable and looked straight forward. Again, what excitement.
Today wasn't much better. I convinced myself that my neck was well enough to go to body pump and then ran 1.25 miles to the Waterloo High School weight room, jumped on the ancient elliptical machine and 40 minutes later, ran another icy 1.25 mile back to Trek. It was actually a great temp outside for running, but I could do without the ice. Oh well... I think there is more to come!
Tomorrow my goal is to spin in the morning and then swim at lunch so I can enjoy our "Garden State" Movie party after work.
Guess that's it. Time to close! Have a great night!
