So my New Year's "goal" to eat less chocolate is going down in flames... Wow I am bad at discipline! Tomorrow... tomorrow I will try harder. I keep hoping someday this will actually work - and I seriously intend for it to work. Tomorrow is the day!

Ok, enough with the lies. I guess there really isn't much else for me to write about. I sitting at my second job for the day, bored out of my mind, but getting paid do do virtually nothing. Gotta like that!

Tried snowboarding for the first time on Saturday. It didn't actually go as poorly as I first anticipated. When I got there and heard EVERY single person getting us ready to try this say "you're going to feel like you got hit by a bus tomorrow, but it will be fun the second time you go" I thought- yup, I'm off to rent a snow tube. Luckily my sister convinced me that we had spent too much money to just leave and that if the little kids could do it, so could we. I listened and after being on the board for 30 seconds, fell down the hill backwards and cracked my head on the ground, sending my hat and zillion dollar oakleys flying halfway down the hill. Lovely. We did get a free lesson with our rental though so that helped a lot and with the exception of one other pretty hard fall, I was having fun and actually making my way down the hill! Maybe I'll try it again... I guess my sister was incredibly sore the next day, however I felt fortunate that I came out of it with just a sore neck from my first fall. It could have been worse for sure!

Sunday was pretty boring. There was no one around to go skiing or snowshoeing with so I ended up riding the bike at the club for 2.5 hours while watching the "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" marathon, and then jumped on the treadmill to finish off the last half hour of the show. I couldn't really do anything else but activities that were pretty stable and looked straight forward. Again, what excitement.

Today wasn't much better. I convinced myself that my neck was well enough to go to body pump and then ran 1.25 miles to the Waterloo High School weight room, jumped on the ancient elliptical machine and 40 minutes later, ran another icy 1.25 mile back to Trek. It was actually a great temp outside for running, but I could do without the ice. Oh well... I think there is more to come!

Tomorrow my goal is to spin in the morning and then swim at lunch so I can enjoy our "Garden State" Movie party after work.

Guess that's it. Time to close! Have a great night!

Well, the snow has finally arrived! Time to try out that skiing thing again I suppose... although I think I am more likely to strap the snowshoes on my feet first. Either way, at least I have some additional options again. That might provoke some sort of active movement in me (or so I hope!)

Not too much is new otherwise. Yesterday I made it out on a 5 mile run with some coworkers. It pretty much kicked my butt since I haven't run on snow in ages. I forgot how much the unsteady footing zaps your energy. But I made it unharmed and managed to still make it on the bike for another 2 hours last night. I always try to hit a class (well, I teach it everyother Thursday night) and then just stay for the next hour and spin through the OC. What a great, but pointless show!

Today was pretty weak. I barely pulled myself out of bed to make it in to lift. Took the rest of the day off with big asperations for the weekend and the snow. Hopefully I can live that dream!

Well, sadly, that's it for me today. Just thought I'd check in. Have a great weekend.

Happy New Year! The goals begin... notice I did not say "resolutions" but rather goals that I will work toward. That way it's not as hit or miss I guess. I hope everyone had a great holiday!

So I guess it begins again huh? I was having an extremely hard time motivating myself to workout, but was pushing myself through anyway. I'm hoping that with the new month and the holidays (and hecticness) behind me, I will regain focus and find fun in it again. Unfortunately I've been down a lot lately... mainly about having to work and workout. I'm such a baby. Goal #1: get over the above. Also, with the holidays over and a new focus beginning, I hope to get my healthy eating back on schedule so that I can get where I need to be, sooner! I guess that's goal #2. Other than that, my goal sheet gets longer daily, but I'll wait to blog those until they are really going to be focused on.

Also, today is the day I start logging my workouts again. Yeah!! Maybe that will help motivate... anyway... today I taught the 5:30am spin class. I went in really tired, but the class turned out to be great and both I and the participants got a pretty hefty workout in. I must have been in a mean mood when I was putting that lineup together... that or sleeping!! Anyway, they did great and I left feeling accomplished.

At lunch I ran to the Waterloo High School (a little over a mile away) and lifted upper body (randomly I might add... not good at individual lifting...) and then ran back. It was a good little addition to the day. Tomorrow is a swimming day and I haven't decided if there will be anything in the morning or not. Maybe a short run. We'll see.

Alright, back to work. Hope all is well and the new year treats you well!
